GreenSkills is an initiative of WPC Ltd, a not-for-profit Group Training Organisation (GTO) specialising in the employment and training of apprentices and trainees. Established in Victoria in 1982, WPC Group are recognised as a leading GTO and with offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, WPC Group employ more than 400 apprentices (apprentices and trainees) and work with more than 200 host employers across a broad range of industry sectors.

Maintaining and innovation-adept culture, a commitment to skills development and a dedication to the reduction of carbon emissions generated by our workforce, WPC Group, with funding support from the Victorian and New South Wales State Governments, have created a new range of apprenticeships and traineeships in the green economy.

GreenSkills delivers apprentices and trainees with the skills necessary to create a sustainable future for Australia and addresses the skills deficiencies being faced by industry and government.

Nicks delivers a key message to employers to maintain their commitment to skills and to offer training or employment, especially to the young unemployed (rate among 15-19 year olds is more than three times the Australian rate of around 5%), Nick’s company has mounted the first Apprentice program dedicated to Greenskills and sustainability.

Building a more sustainable economy is among the main social responsibility challenges facing business and corporates. The creation, at the same time, of economic and social value may be the self-evident aim of many not-forprofit organisations. Nick believes in and is working towards the alignment of self interest, the bottom line, to social responsibility becoming the most powerful way of sustaining any company’s success.
