CEO Cook Off feeds 1000 homeless and reduces waste

WPC Group CEO Nicholas Wyman teamed up with Celebrity Chefs including Matt Moran, Maggie Beer, Poh Ling Yeow, Adam Liaw, Neil Perry and Pete Evans at the Cathedral Square in Sydney.

The purpose of the event was to raise awareness and much needed funds to assist Australians facing challenges in the areas of food security, homelessness and youth in crisis. The event raised a total of One Million Dollars while the CEOs and Celebrity Chefs put their sustainable culinary skills to work to cook up a storm to feed 1000 people in need.

CEO CookOff – help support Ozharvest, the Big Issue and ONE80TC

altOn Monday 11 February 2013, Nicholas Wyman, CEO GreenSkills, will be joining fellow CEOs and Business Leaders for the CEO CookOff, hosted by Qantas and OzHarvest. OzHarvest is a not for profit organisation that rescues excess food and delivers it to people in need. Saving excess food from landfill impacts positively on the environment.

At the CookOff, Nicholas will be teaming up with 34 celebrity chefs from Australia’s top kitchens, directed by Rockpool and Qantas ambassador Neil Perry, to feed 1000 people in need.

In the lead-up there will be a focus on raising significant funds for Ozharvest, the Big Issue and ONE80TC.

National Skills Week Kicks Off at Kino

Monday night, 28th August marked the launch of National Skills Week for 2012.The Minister for Education, Hon Peter Hall opened the evening. His speech focused on the necessity to continue to up skill Australia’s workforce and that age is no barrier when contemplating starting an Apprenticeship or Traineeship. The Hon. Peter Hall also acknowledged the efforts of Sevag Parseghian, winner of the 2012 Victorian Apprentice of the Year Award (automotive) and Trainee of the Year finalist – Stephanie Greene (Dept of Justice).

A range of guests including representatives from State Government, Victoria University, Business Managers, Skills Councils, Principals and Careers Advisors attended the launch at the Sofitel, followed by a feature screening of ‘Le Chef’ at Kino Cinema in Melbourne.
